Exciting Finishes all around; Final Four Matchups Decided

Office of the Commissioner, Blue Bell, PA, October 17th 1998. All four Elite Eight series went down to the wire this week. When all was said and done, the favorites prevailed over the underdogs, as Pittsburgh, Palo Alto, New York City and Phoenix all won the deciding game at home in exciting fashion. The matchup in the Aaron Conference couldn’t be more evenly matched. The Champions and the Pranksters each had the most regular season wins in the AC with 97, and even tied their regular season matchup 6 games to 6. In the other conference, the Firebirds advance into a rematch with the NYCBC, who ousted Phoenix in seven games in last year’s Final Four. The Firebirds will have to push forward without MVP outfielder Barry Bonds, while the Baseball Club will need to decide who will man Center Field after Lawton went down with an injury in the Elite Eight. NYC edged out Phoenix in the season series 7-5 and seem to have momentum on their side.

Experts pick: Palo Alto 4-2 over Pittsburgh & Phoenix 4-3 over NYC.
