Spartans Upend Flamingos, 3-2

The San Francisco Spartans had to overcome a good performance from Florida pitcher Calvin Thomas to claim a 3-2 win at Flamingo Park. Thomas went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. San Francisco reliever Joseph Savarese picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Reggie Walters took the loss. The Spartans bumped their record to 44-37 with this latest triumph.
San Francisco used the timely hitting of Eddie Clark to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Spartans on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Clark called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
