Seattle Drops Atlanta, 7-4
|
The Seattle Steelheads picked up a win at AFLAC Ballpark, knocking off the Atlanta Bandits, 7-4. Starting pitcher Hugh Vásquez was a big reason why. Wiel Gommers closed the door for Seattle, picking up his 26th save of the year. With the win, the Steelheads sit at 53-51.
One of the key players for the Steelheads was center fielder Marv Milner, who drilled a double in the top of the second inning. For the game, Milner went 2 for 5 with a double.
"I liked his command," said Seattle manager Brad Lidge. "Hugh was throwing strikes."
