Yakima Valley rode a good effort from starter Lewis Altavilla to beat the Hollywood Stars at Ballpark of LA. The final score was 4-2. Hollywood drops to 10-6.

Yakima Valley used the timely hitting of Greg Shepherd to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pippins on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Hollywood manager Francisco Huerta said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
