Extra-Inning Win by Pippins Over Baseball Club
|
Yakima Valley Pippins starter Bill Avery pitched a strong game against the New York City Baseball Club at Gilbert Park, leading the Pippins to victory, 7-5. Yakima Valley bumps their record to 33-35 with the win.
Yakima Valley won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Miguel García on the mound for New York City, designated hitter Jean Carlos Encarnacion hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Pippins fans to their feet.
Encarnacion described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
