Aponte Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak
Friday, August 5th, 2016
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.

Javier Aponte did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at Larry H. Miller Ballpark today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 23-year-old left fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Salt Lake Bees beat the Toledo Troutheads 6-2 today.

"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Aponte told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Salt Lake clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day."
Javier Aponte walked in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 5th and hit a sac fly in the 7th.

So far this season, Aponte has recorded a .312 batting average with 100 hits, 6 home runs, 38 RBIs, 37 runs scored and a .342 OBP.
