Verlander on Fire, Strikes out 15 Steelheads Thursday, April 19th, 2007 Justin Verlander of the Eden Prairie Landsharks put on a pitching clinic today at Landsharks Field as he struck out 15 Seattle Steelheads in a 7-2 victory. Verlander, the four overall pick in the 2002 draft, was simply magnificent as he held the Steelheads to 3 hits. He walked 1. "I felt okay at the beginning," Verlander said, "but eventually my slider really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
