Colón Whips Everett, 1-0 Thursday, September 2nd , 2032 The Everett Hawks were almost helpless today in their 1-0 loss to the Bellingham Orcas and hurler Abelardo Colón. Colón kept the Hawks confused all game, spinning a 8-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Colón," Everett manager Caleb Martinez said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 30-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Colón said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." This season Colón has a 11-7 record with a 3.04 ERA. |
