Super Swinger -- Haynes Slams 5 Hits Sunday, July 25th , 2032 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for George Haynes, it came around today. The 25-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Placid Lakes Grounds to pace the Ozark Bobcats to a 11-3 victory over the Davenport Surge. Davenport skipper Tony Womack told reporters in the press room that "Haynes deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Haynes hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." George Haynes tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Haynes has hit at a .211 clip with 10 RBIs, 2 home runs and 27 runs scored. |
