Irwin Stretches Hit String to 33 Saturday, April 16th , 2033 Jeff Irwin, second baseman for the Dubuque Beluga, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 33 games with 1 hit in his club's 2-1 victory today over the Ozark Bobcats at Beluga Ballpark today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Ozark manager Oscar Munoz said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Jeff Irwin struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. Presently Irwin is batting .364 and has collected no home runs, 3 RBIs, .391 OBP and scored 5 runs. |
