Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Gill Thursday, July 29th , 2032 With 2 hits at Ballpark of Lydia today, Ben Gill added another game to his hitting streak -- the Nueva Gerona center fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Threshers today, as they fell, 7-3, to the Matanzas Astronauts. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Matanzas manager Leonardo Rodriguez said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Ben Gill singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. This year Gill is batting .336 with 6 home runs. He has scored 64 runs and driven in 42. |
