Ashley Hurls Kings to 6-0 Shutout Win Wednesday, July 21st , 2032 The Santo Domingo Great Danes were almost helpless today in their 6-0 loss to the Aruba Kings and hurler Andre Ashley. Ashley kept the Great Danes confused all game, spinning a 5-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Ashley," Santo Domingo manager Heitor Correa said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 24-year-old left-hander had 1 walk and 10 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Ashley said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." On the season Ashley has compiled a 10-6 mark with a 3.58 ERA in 19 starts. In pitching 128.1 innings he has 113 strikeouts and 55 walks while limiting the opposition to a .266 batting average. |
