Chambers Rockets 3 HR Against San Juan Tuesday, August 3rd , 2032 Gil Chambers went on an explosive hitting spree against the San Juan Sols at Ballpark of Cayuga Heights today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the St. Kitts Checkers to the 12-6 win. The right fielder finished 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 10 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Chambers said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." San Juan skipper Doug Saunders said Chambers was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Gil Chambers grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Artie Fernández in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Artie Fernández in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Derrick Powell in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 7th. Presently Chambers is hitting .284 with 15 home runs and 78 RBIs. He has played in 95 games and scored 56 times. |
