Sols Lose Bass for Season Tuesday, August 10th , 2032 The doctors have spoken and Jim Bass of the San Juan Sols didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Bass sustained his season-ending injury during the Nassau Sand Sharks game yesterday at Sand Sharks Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the San Juan medical staff reported Bass had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12-13 months. So far this year Bass has compiled a 3-3 record with a 2.86 ERA. |
