Season Possibly Over for Alonso Valdéz Tuesday, August 3rd , 2032 Alonso Valdéz of the Diablos just might have to call it quits for the season. The 20-year-old El Paso starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Casper Bombardiers recently at Diablos Ballpark. Valdéz suffered a torn meniscus while throwing a pitch. The Diablos medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 4 months. Valdéz has made 9 starts this season, posting 3 wins and 1 loss. Opposing clubs are batting .200 against him and he has 49 strikeouts in 51.2 innings with a 1.22 ERA. |
