Fading Armadillos Lose 10th Straight
|
Getting offensive support from Lorenzo Morales, the Florida Flamingos topped the San Antonio Armadillos, 6-4. Morales went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Flamingos. Jaime Pérez recorded the save for Florida, his 28th of the season. The losses continue to mount for San Antonio, which has now dropped 10 in a row.
Florida used a clutch hit from Ernest Carter to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Carter told the Florida Daily News.
