Bandits Best Spartans in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Atlanta Bandits and the San Francisco Spartans, pitcher Toni Hagman was the difference between victory and defeat. The Atlanta left-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Bandits win. Earning his 29th save of the year was Cristián García. The victory gives the Bandits a record of 74-59.
Robby Wood, who led the RC in triples with 14 last year, contributed to the Atlanta win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Toni was able to execute his pitches," said Atlanta manager Brandon Wood. "Simple as that."
