Torres Helps Stars Beat Bees, 9-1
|
The performance of Gleyber Torres proved critical in helping Hollywood beat Salt Lake, 9-1. The Stars third baseman went 4-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The winner in relief was Arnold Murphy. He is now 2-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. With the loss, Salt Lake sinks to 10-8.
Torres contributed in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Hollywood get the win.
"We had a nice day," said Hollywood skipper Francisco Huerta.
