Baseball Club Pick Up 6-3 Win
|
The New York City Baseball Club had to overcome a big game from San Francisco designated hitter António Sánchez to leave NYC Field with a victory. And they did, winning 6-3. Sánchez went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Jairo Solis. His record is now 3-1. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits for the Baseball Club. New York City, with the win, is 18-9.
Phil Kirkland contributed to the New York City win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"I still think this team can play even better," Kirkland told the New York City Daily News.
