Great Effort by Stars 3B Harris Not Enough in 7-5 Loss
|
Jeffery Harris had a good game, but he could not keep the Hollywood Stars from falling, 7-5, to the Seattle Steelheads at Ballpark of LA. The Hollywood designated hitter went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once in the loss. Steve Willis picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. Jason Pickerell was tagged with the loss. Seattle is now 31-33.
The outcome might have been different for Seattle, had it not been for Steffen Cox, the 27-year old first baseman . Cox stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Seattle up, 6-5. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Seattle manager Brad Lidge.
