SunRays Drop Champions, 7-6
|
The 7-6 Orlando win over Pittsburgh was due in large part to Cole Tucker. The SunRays third baseman went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Pablo Martínez got the win, improving to 19-9. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the SunRays.
Orlando used the bat of Trent Clark to get the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the SunRays ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Clark, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
