Steelheads Deal Rebels 2-1 Defeat
|
The Charleston Rebels got a sterling performance from pitcher Gilberto Santos, but the Seattle Steelheads still prevailed, 2-1. Santos threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Seattle raised its record to 81-68 with the win.
Seattle used a clutch hit from Spencer Morris to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Steelheads ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Seattle manager Brad Lidge said.
