Loss to Bandits Extends Phoenix Losing Streak
|
Starting pitcher Tony Suárez pitched well enough to help the Atlanta Bandits beat the Phoenix Firebirds, 6-5. Cristián García got the save, his 31st in 34 chances. The current losing streak for Phoenix has reached 6 games.
In the bottom of the fifth, Atlanta first baseman Brandon Wagner had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Wagner stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 5-3, Atlanta. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Suárez.
