Richardson belts 2 home runs, Leads Voodoo to Win
|
New Orleans third baseman David Richardson contributed to his team's 5-4 win over the Omaha Mammoths. Richardson went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Voodoo. Jerry Pellerin, credited with the win, is now 9-11. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Curt Allen got the save, his 21st in 26 chances.
Richardson had a timely hit for New Orleans in the bottom of the eighth. With Omaha trailing 4-2, he turned a 1-0 curveball into a 3-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season, making it 5-4, New Orleans.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Omaha manager Ulrich Snijders. "The effort was great."
The victory puts New Orleans at 59-95.
