Piper Tags Firebirds for 5 Hits Sunday, May 1st , 2033 Who needs batting practice? Apparently not Toledo Troutheads right fielder Bill Piper, who missed the team's pre-game session at Firebirds Ballpark but peppered the Phoenix Firebirds for 5 hits come game time. The Troutheads went on to take the 13-5 win. "I was late to the park and I wasn't sure coach was even going to keep me in the lineup," he told the press after the game. "Maybe I should skip BP more often." Bill Piper singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Joseph Heard in the 9th.
