In a remarkable performance, New York City Baseball Club starter Charlie A Morton beat the San Francisco Spartans 6-0 in an impressive 3-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Baseball Club hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," San Francisco manager Steve Dixon said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

Checking out his stats for the season, Morton has registered 15 wins and 2 losses in 24 starts, 2.19 ERA and struck out 132 batters in 172.1 innings.
